Senior-Heavy Trenton Tennis Team Aims For District "Three-Peat"

It is an interesting mix of girls for second-year head coach Abby Gott and the Trenton High School tennis program this fall.

Overall numbers (15) can best be considered average for Trenton, but of those numbers, more than half are seniors, many moving from JV to varsity in 2014.

Coach Gott, in an interview with KTTN Sports Director Tom Johnson, gave an overview of her team:

The Lady Bulldogs are two-time defending district champions, having reached the state sectionals in 2011 and the state quarterfinals last year. That district title is one that Trenton doesn't plan on giving up, without a fight:

The first meet of the tennis season for Trenton will be at St. Joseph Lafayette at 4 o'clock on Thursday, August 29th. The HOME opener, at the courts just to the west of Trenton High School, will be against Chillicothe at 4 o'clock on Wednesday, September 4th.
