I-35 Crash Injures Albany Resident

|The southbound lanes of I-35, as well as one of the northbound lanes had to be shut down when an accident occurred at approximately 8:00 o'clock Wednesday morning.|
The Highway Patrol reports John Sciortino, 60, of Albany, lost control of his 2008 Chevrolet pickup on the rain soaked southbound roadway, crossed the median, pulling into the path of a northbound tractor trailer driven by Steven Marlatt, 48, of Ridgeway.
Sciortino’s vehicle struck the passenger side of the tractor trailer, coming to rest in the passing lane of northbound 35. Marlatt lost control of the semi which crossed the median and overturned onto the driver’s side, coming to rest across both southbound lanes.
Sciortino was transported to the Cameron Regional Medical Center in serious condition. Marlatt was not injured.
Livestock had to be rounded up from the overturned tractor trailer. The accident cleanup was complete at approximately one o'clock with both lanes re-opened to traffic.
