Four of the six board members attended the public hearings. Approval was given to Duane Urich of Black Silo Winery for a larger advertising sign than permitted in city regulations. He receives a 152 square foot variance for an illuminated sign at his new business on Highway 6 East in Trenton. No further action by the city is needed.

The planning and zoning board recommends approval of a zoning change for property at 80 South Main. Cheri Burchett was present to request the change from open space zoning to one and two family dwelling to allow for a carport at that residence. Since it's a zoning change, the request will be forwarded for consideration by the Trenton City Council at an upcoming meeting.

City officials report the planning and zoning commission was asked to postpone consideration of a request from Lynette Davenport in care of McDonalds of Trenton.

The commission then tabled the request until a September meeting. The proposal is to consolidate two vacant lots behind the restaurant to allow McDonalds to expand its drive through service. Owners of the McDonalds' franchise are said to be purchasing the lots from Mrs. Davenport.

Besides city officials, planning and zoning members attending the meeting were Dave Bengsten, Rich Hattesohl, Mike Johnson, and Jean Peace.
