Former Tindall Resident Wins Showdown

|A large crowd packed the courtyard of the Rock Barn for more than two hours of performances in the Texaco Country Showdown Friday night.|
Eleven contestants performed in two rounds of competition. Emerging as the winner of the contest was 20 year old Jeremiah Hamilton of Tindall. He played the guitar while singing a son he wrote “Where I Call Home.” His second song was “Hey Girl”, originally recorded by country music singer Billy Currington. Hamilton graduated Trenton High School in 2011.
He lives in St. Joseph where he is attending Hillyard Technical School. His parents are Junior and Denise Hamilton of Tindall. A panel of five judges evaluated each performance using criteria such as marketability, vocal / instrumental ability, originality, charisma on stage, and overall talent. Bonus points also were given for contestants who wrote and performed their own songs.
Jeremiah Hamilton will represent the PAR Broadcast Group, KTTN, KGOZ when he advances to the state finals September 6th at the Isle of Capri in Boonville where he competes against other local winners in the next round of the Texaco Country Showdown.
