Cyclospora Cases Confirmed In Missouri

|The Department of Health and Senior Services has just been notified by health providers in Jackson and Taney County of two cases of Cyclospora.|
The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services is currently working with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and other agencies to investigate whether or not these cases are linked to cases in other states.
At this point, the source of the illnesses has not been confirmed. The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services will continue to provide information as it becomes available.
In the meantime, any individuals experiencing symptoms, including diarrhea (especially those with prolonged symptoms), severe stomach cramps or nausea, should seek medical attention.
Health officials in Iowa and Nebraska on Tuesday identified prepackaged salad mix as the source of a severe stomach bug that sickened hundreds of people in both states, but federal authorities said it’s not clear whether cyclospora outbreaks elsewhere in the U.S. are also linked to that produce.
