Late summer project to slow traffic on Highway 6

Work is scheduled to begin next Monday (August 5th) on a project involving over 23 1/2 miles of Highway 6, from the intersection with Highway 31 (North) in DeKalb County to U.S. Highway 69, west of Altamont in Daviess County. The work will go through the cities of Maysville and Weatherby.

The Missouri Department of Transportation has awarded a contract in the amount of $3,116,755 to APAC-Missouri to resurface and add shoulders to Highway 6. Crews will OVERLAY and add TWO-FOOT shoulders to 23.58 miles of Highway 6. Contractor crews will work five 10-hour days with possible work on Saturday's. The expected completion date will be late October to early November. Motorists should expect DELAYS, with single lane closures and a pilot car to guide them through work zones. All work is weather permitting.
