The Trenton Police Department, from time to time, plans to have a mannequin in a parked police car in areas where members of the community have complained about speeding.

Trenton Police Chief Tommy Wright says, at some time, the dummy will be replaced by a real officer using real radar. Wright indicated it's an effort to curb speeding and hazardous violations.

The police department this week launched the motorist safety campaign. A dummy was replaced by a real officer two hours later in the same car, and at the same location. Radar was used, but no violations were observed.
