The Trenton City Council, in May, selected Red Rock of Hamilton and Truitt's of Linneus to do the demolition work.

Red Rock of Hamilton, which has five structures to take down, is to begin work Wednesday, July 24th. That according to Trenton building inspector and code enforcement officer Donnie Vandevender.

Truitt's, which has seven structures to remove, is to begin work during the first week in August.

Vandevender last night gave an update on those demolition projects and various properties of concern during a scheduled meeting of the Trenton Building and Nuisance Board. Not enough members of the board attended to have a quorum. Although no votes could be taken, there was general discussion. The only board members attending were Larry Huffstutter and Stan Lowery.

Also participating in the discussion were Trenton Police Chief Tommy Wright and Mayor Nick McHargue. Trenton city clerk Cindy Simpson also attended.
