North Kansas City Man Seriously Injured In Accident

A North Kansas City man was hurt when the pickup truck he was driving hit two parked vehicles at polo Saturday afternoon. A third parked vehicle also was damaged.

66-year old Michael Stewart of North Kansas city was taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center, and then to St. Luke's Hospital at Kansas City. The highway patrol said Stewart was seriously injured. The patrol said he was accused of misdemeanor driving while intoxicated and careless and imprudent driving involving an accident. The accident was on Highway 13 at Center street at Polo.

The patrol said the northbound pickup went off the right side of the road and hit two cars parked along highway 13. The pickup and two cars were demolished. One of the cars was pushed into a sport utility vehicle which also was parked along highway 13. Damage to the SUV was listed as minor. The patrol said Stewart was wearing a seat belt.
