Sullivan County Man Arrested On Firearms Charges

|A 55-year old Humphrey man, James Bowe, has been charged in Sullivan county with two counts of of unlawful possession of a firearm. |
Bond was set at 50-thousand dollars cash only. He was being held at the Daviess/Dekalb regional jail at Pattonsburg.
Sullivan county Sheriff Roger Smiley said Bowe had been convicted in the past of a felony. He noted persons convicted of any felony cannot legally possess firearms.
The sheriff said Bowe was taken into custody late Friday night on an investigative hold. Sheriff Smiley explained a search warrant was executed Saturday at Bowe's residence at 417 Jones street at Humpreys related to reported weapons in the house.
That came after the Sullivan county sheriff's department, Trenton police, and the highway patrol remained at Bowe's property Friday night. The location is across from the school.
Bowe was charged late Saturday night with the two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm.
