After an undercover operation, it was determined that the men were selling bottle rockets and what appeared to be homemade explosive devices.

A search warrant was obtained and executed on the fireworks stand at Oklahoma and East 9th Street, a nearby shed and a vehicle during the evening hours of July 3rd. Recovered were bottle rockets and homemade explosive devices. The business license was revoked and the men were charged and booked at the Grundy County Jail on Trenton Municipal Charges for possessing illegal fireworks. Both men posted a $500.00 cash bonds and were released pending court disposition.

Wright advised ‚ÄúThe possession and/or sale/discharge of bottle rockets is against city ordinance, however, the homemade explosive devices are against state and federal law. We feel good about getting these off the street and hope that by doing so we prevented someone from getting injured‚ÄĚ.

Wright added that the investigation is continuing and state and/or federal charges may be applied for in the future
