According to a press release from the Livingston County Sheriff's office:

A rural resident reported this morning that she has been received several recorded calls from a phone with an 816 area code and the last four digits of 7578. When this call is received there is a recorded message about a “Security Alert” and certain instructions are given.

Upon calling this number back, there is no connection, and, we have not been able to determine whether this is a number to a legitimate business.

Anyone receiving a similar call should be guarded as it quite possibly may be a scam. If you do not want to receive these calls you may block the number and call the Missouri Attorney General’s Office at 1-800-392-8222 to make a complaint.
