Princeton's board of education has approved adding 600 dollars to the base
salary for a teacher. That makes the beginning salary 26 thousand dollars. The board also allows teachers to advance a step on the salary schedule. An extra duty salary schedule was revised to include the category of “event support.”

Princeton board approved the district paying 100 percent of health insurance premiums. There are two options: the one thousand dollar deductible (in PPO) is a monthly payment of 468 dollars. The two thousand dollar deductible (in HSA) is a monthly payment of 404 dollars. The sick leave reimbursement plan was approved.

Princeton board approved a transfer of 162 thousand dollars from the general fund to capital projects to cover costs associated with capital improvements for fiscal 2013.

A special meeting of the Princeton R-5 Board of Education is June 27th ( at 6 pm) to close out the current budget year and to adopted the next years' school budget as of July 1st. The board met last evening in closed session for personnel with no action taken.

It's also been announced Princeton high school will have a foreign exchange student for the upcoming school year. A 17 year old boy from the Czech Republic will stay with Robert and Donna Gibson. He'll be in the senior class at Princeton.
