One Trenton resident was injured and another escaped getting hurt in a two car accident yesterday afternoon three miles north of Maryville.

The highway patrol described injuries as moderate for 20 year old Kelsey Brown of Trenton. She was taken by ambulance to St. Francis Hospital in Maryville. She was a passenger in a car driven by 20 year old Zachary Hulett of Trenton. The driver of another car was 83 year old Edith Lyle of Mound City. The patrol investigator said that Ms. Lyle apparently failed to yield at the intersection of Highway 71 and Nodaway county route Double C when her westbound car pulled into the path of the northbound Hulett car.
Damage was extensive to both vehicles. All persons were using seat belts.
