Major highways across Carroll County threatened by floodwaters

Date 2013/5/31 9:11:52 | Topic: Floodwaters

Changing conditions overnight brought another road closure on Highway 10 two miles west of Carrollton in Carroll County, according to the Missouri Department of Transportation. MoDOT crews are also closely watching U.S. Highway 24 in Chariton County just west of Keytesville where water is at the edge of Keytesville where water is at the edge-line of the road and rising.
The road may need to be closed in the coming hours. MoDOT reminds motorists that if they see water over the road, to NOT drive through that water. There is no way to know the depth of the water or the condition of the pavement underneath. Travelers are encouraged to check the Traveler Information Map at www.modot.org/northwest for closures or call 888-ASK-MODOT.

Some other minor road that are currently closed include Linn County Routes B and C (East); Chariton County Routes D and E (East and West), Route NN (North and South), and Highway 129; Caldwell County Route A; and Livingston County Routes C and DD.
