The Chillicothe City Council has authorized the purchase of a new rescue unit for the fire department. Fire Chief Darrell Wright says cash reserves are to be used to pay for the $365,000 vehicle.
A payment is to be made for the chassis in about four to six months. The balance is to be paid when the truck is delivered in April 2014.

The new vehicle includes a 300 gallon water tank, a 12-gallon foam cell, and a rescue tool system. The vehicle will replace a 1997 model rescue truck.
