NCMC baseball team splits four weekend games with St. Louis

The North Central Missouri College baseball team, hosting the St. Louis Archers over the weekend, split back-to-back doubleheaders played on Saturday and Sunday at Burleigh Grimes Field in Trenton.
On Saturday, St. Louis blitzed North Central in game one, winning 13-1.

The Pirates captured the second contest, 5-2. Winning pitcher Derek Mann allowed two runs (both earned), four hits, one walk, and three hit batters.

Offensively, Tyler Marion was two for three with one run batted in. One of those hits was a triple. Rocky Fermin had two doubles.

On Sunday, the Pirates won game one against St. Louis by a score of 9-8. Sophomore Jim Ball got the win with freshman Kyle Watt earning the save. Hitting stars for the game were sophomore Tyler Marion, 2 for 4 with two runs scored and a home run, and sophomore Silas Bohannan, who finished 4 for 4 with two runs scored and a home run.

In game two, the Pirates came up on the short end of a 1-0 loss. Freshman pitcher Jason Luster took the tough-luck loss.
