Plans announced to replace Route V bridge near Chiillcothe

Date 2013/4/26 8:58:48 | Topic: Road Work

Construction to replace the railroad bridge on Livingston County Route V in Chillicothe will begin in mid-May. The contracted completion date is November 1st. However, the Missouri Department of Transportation says the project could be completed earlier, weather permitting.
MoDOT says the new bridge will be concrete and have more gently-sloped approaches. The alignment of Route V also will be straightened.

The new bridge will be constructed north of the existing bridge. Therefore, motorists will be able to use the current bridge until the new one is completed.

Crews currently are removing debris at the site. The bridge on Route V will connect East Polk Street and Polk Street.

The $1,400,000 project was awarded to APAC-Missouri Incorporated.
