NCMC Lady Pirates add New Haven H.S. forward to 2013-2014 roster

The North Central Missouri College Lady Pirates basketball team has signed its first recruit for the 2013-14 season. Kayla Oetterer, a 5’11” forward from New Haven, Missouri has made the decision to continue her basketball career at NCMC.
Oetterer is a 2012 graduate of New Haven High School and received a unanimous nomination to the Missouri Sports Writers and Broadcasters Association’s All District First Team in 2012. Her other honors include Academic All-Conference 2011-12, All South Callaway Tournament Team 2011 and 2012, First Team All Conference 2010, 2011, and 2012, First Team All District 2011-12, KLPW Player of the Week 2011, and Prep Cast Player of the Game (Districts 2010). Oetterer’s career point total is 1,358 with game averages of 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Head Lady Pirates Coach Jenni Croy commented, “Kayla will be a great addition to our program. Her team earned second in state in Class 2 her senior season, and Kayla was a big part of that accomplishment. She’s played in big games and comes from an outstanding high school program. We look for great things from her as an NCMC Lady Pirate.”

Kayla Oetterer is the daughter of Rodney and Kathy Oetterer and plans to obtain her Associate in Arts degree from NCMC with an eventual career goal in the healthcare field.
