Gallatin man arrested in rape charges

A Gallatin man is in jail after six felony count were filed against him stemming from an investigation by the Daviess County Sheriff's Department. Twenty-four year old Bryan Scott Carter was arrested on Saturday, regarding the alleged forcible rape of his four-month old child.
A probable cause statement notes the child sustained serious injuries and underwent emergency surgery at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.

On-line arrest records show Carter is facing charges of statutory rape and sodomy, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and two counts of incest.

Bond was set at $500,000 cash. Carter is being held at the Daviess-DeKalb Regional Jail in Pattonsburg, pending an appearance in the Associate Division of Daviess County Circuit Court.
