Two people from Marceline were injured on Wednesday night in a traffic accident three miles south of Moberly in Randolph County. As a result of the accident, blamed on ICY road conditions, 44-year old George Bailey and 38-year old Jennifer Bailey were taken to Moberly Regional Medical Center, with MODERATE injuries for GEORGE Bailey and minor injuries for Jennifer Bailey.
George Bailey was identified as the DRIVER of the vehicle. The driver of the second vehicle involved in the crash, 27-year old Jessica Johns of Kirksville, apparently escaped injury. The Highway Patrol said Bailey was stopped on the right shoulder of U.S. Highway 63, checking on an unrelated accident, when Ms. Johns lost control of her car on the ice-covered road and struck Bailey's vehicle from behind. Damage was extensive to both cars. All three people WERE wearing seat belts.
