Accident north of Bucklin injures Slater woman

| The Highway Patrol reports that one person was injured when two vehicles collided on a hillcrest seven miles north of Bucklin in eastern Linn County. The accident happened on Maury Road at mid-afternoon on Thursday.
The Patrol said 21-year old Lauren Welker of Slater was taken by ambulance to Pershing Memorial Hospital for the treatment of MODERATE injuries. She was westbound in a car while a pickup truck was eastbound when the accident occurred. The driver of the pickup, 39-year old Jarrett Belfeld and passenger, 62-year old Daniel Draken, were not reported hurt. All three people were wearing seat belts. Damage was called extensive to the truck, while the car was demolished.
