TMS students take top two spots in Grundy County Spelling Bee

Trenton Middle School students claimed the top two spots in the annual Grundy County Spelling Bee held yesterday (Tuesday). Winning the competition was Hannah Kennebeck, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Kennebeck. Second place (alternate) is Tanner Franklin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Doug Franklin.
"Flotilla" was the winning word correctly spelled. Others with high-ranking finishes were Tanner Williams of Laredo R-7 in third place and Brandy Wilson of Pleasant View R-6 in fourth place.

The top two advance to regional spelling bee competition held at St. Joseph. Schools represented were Trenton, Grundy R-5, Laredo, and Pleasant View. The participants came from 5th through 8th grades after their selection by their schools.
