Saturday morning wreck injures two from Brookfield

The Highway Patrol says that two elderly Brookfield residents received SERIOUS injuries when a pickup truck traveled off Highway 139 north of Meadville, hitting highway signs and a bride. The driver, Rodley Sanders, and passenger, Margaret Sanders, both 89 years of age, were flown by medical helicopter to Truman Medical Center in Kansas City.
The accident was late Saturday morning seven miles north of Meadville. The pickup was southbound when it went off the right side of the road and hit a series of highway signs, and a bridge. The truck was demolished. Both people were wearing seat belts.
