The Jamesport Tri-County School District will not have classes on Thursday and Friday because of illness to students and staff. Superintendent Phil Fox said 29% of the students were absent today (Wednesday). That number is up from 25 percent on Tuesday. Four to five staff were also absent, with another two to three reporting "feeling poorly".
Classes, as a result, will NOT be held at Jamesport Tri-County on Thursday and Friday. School will resume on Monday. In the meantime, the building will be disinfected. Superintendent Fox said intestinal illness has been the biggest problem for students, although some have respiratory illness. The adults have BOTH intestinal and respiratory illness. There have been some confirmed influenza type A and type B cases at the Tri-County School in Jamesport.
