
Princeton Tigers sweep Courtwarming doubleheader with Milan

| The Princeton Lady Tigers rallied for a non-conference victory on Friday night over the Lady Wildcats of Milan High School, in the front end of a girls/boys basketball doubleheader broadcast on KTTN FM 92.3 and 'Internet TV'. Princeton was led by Nancy Berwanger's 20 points and Paige Phillips with 16, while Milan, in falling to 9-8 on the season, picked up 13 points from Hannah Sanders. Princeton is now one game BELOW .500 (7-8) on the season, going into the Gilman City Tournament, where the #1 seed Lady Tigers take on Tri-County on Monday afternoon.
The Princeton boys jumped to a first-quarter double-digit lead against the visiting Wildcats, and never looked back in claiming a 62-43 win. Brant Faulkner led the Tigers with 29 points, with Devin Purvis scoring 12, and Jason McLain 11 points. Holden Stallbaumer connected on 19 points for the now 6-11 Milan Wildcats. Milan returns to action on Thursday night (January 24th), hosting Newtown-Harris, before Scotland County visits Milan on Friday. The Princeton boys, as a #2 seed in the Gilman City Tournament, will play the Tri-County Mustangs on Monday night.
