Highway 136 accident injures Iowa residents

Two residents of Centerville, Iowa were injured when a driver apparently fell asleep and the vehicle traveled off U-S Highway 136 in Putnam County.
Sunday morning's accident was just east (one tenth of a mile) of the Route K junction. The State Patrol described injuries as minor for the driver: 45 year old Alan Briggs and his passenger, 41 year old Tamara Lux.

The report stated Briggs was taken by an ambulance to Putnam County Memorial Hospital in Unionville while Ms. Lux was flown by medical helicopter to Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. Both peope were wearing seat belts. Damage was listed as moderate to the vehicle.
