Stewartsville man injured in Highway 36 wreck

A Stewartsville resident was hurt when the pickup truck he was driving went off Highway 36 near Cameron and hit an embankment and a culvert. Fifty-five year old Ricky Shanks of Stewartsville was taken to Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph, with injuries described as MODERATE by the Highway Patrol.
The accident was shortly after the noon hour on Saturday, January 12th, one mile WEST of Cameron on Highway 36. The Patrol said the eastbound pickup went off the left side of the road, hit an embankment and a culvert, and came to rest in a field. The pickup was demolished. The Patrol said Shanks was wearing a seat belt.
