NCMC Lady Pirates earn important road win at John Wood

The North Central Missouri College Lady Pirates bounced back nicely from last Wednesday night's loss at Penn Valley, going to Quincy, Illinois on Saturday and coming back home with a 62-55 victory over the Lady 'Blazers.
Kelsey Griffin led NCMC with 19 points, with Mysti Williams adding 16 points, and Amanda Rodenberg 12 points and 11 rebounds. The win improves the Lady Pirates record to 7-10, going into a Wednesday night home game this week (January 16th) at the Ketcham Community Center. The game against the Central Methodist JV tips at 5:30.

The Pirate men played poorly and ran into a hot-shooting Trail Blazers squad, falling by a score of 84-51, dropping North Central's record to 5-8. John Wood connected on 73 percent of its three point shots, and 65 percent of their two point attempts.

On Monday night, the Pirate men picked up their first win of 2013, beating the Graceland JV by a score of 105-93 at the Ketcham Community Center in Trenton. Reggie Maxwell led NCMC with 24 points and 6 rebounds, with Marshon Norfleet scoring 23, Tyler Peterson 14, and Eric McDaniel 9 points (to go with 14 rebounds). The Pirate men travel to Marshall, Missouri on Wednesday night to take on the Missouri Valley College JV.

The next NCMC broadcasts on Hot Country Z 101.7 will be SATURDAY afternoon, with North Central hosting St. Louis Community College. The women's game tips at 2:00, with the men at 4:00, on both Hot Country Z 101.7 and www.kgozfm.com.
