A Cameron man was injured late Saturday morning when a car hit the rear of a northbound U-Haul trailer on Interstate 35 near Winston. Thirty-four year old Timothy Malone of Cameron was taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center, with injuries described as MODERATE by the Highway Patrol.
Malone was a passenger in a car driven by his 33-year old sister, Courtney Malone of Cameron. She was not reported hurt. The other driver, 48-year old Dawn Carper of Fort Madison, Iowa, was also not reported hurt. She was northbound on I-35, driving a U-Haul box truck that was pulling the small trailer.

The Patrol said Ms. Malone was attempting a pass of the U-Haul when the car she was driving hit the rear of the trailer. The car then went off the right side of the road. Damage was listed as extensive to the car and minor to the truck. All three people involved in the collision were wearing seat belts.
