Three Marceline residents, in their 80's, were injured when an SUV overturned south of Marceline late Sunday morning. A passenger, 82-year old Leona Payne, received what the Highway Patrol called MODERATE injuries. The Patrol said the driver, 84-year old Eva Anderson, and another passenger, 87-year old Eva Beckstead had minor injuries.
All three people were transported to Moberly Regional Medical Center. The accident was six miles south of Marceline on Chariton County Route D. The investigating officer said the westbound SUV went out of control on the ice-covered road, traveled off the left side of the road, and overturned, coming to rest on the driver's side of the vehicle. The SUV sustained moderate damage. All three people were wearing seat belts.
