Foundation for Rural Service to award thirty $2,000 scholarships

The Foundation for Rural Service will award $2,000 scholarships to 30 rural high school seniors in 2013. Should a student from the service area of Grand River Mutual Telephone be chosen to receive one of the thirty scholarships, GRM will contribute an additional $500 to the scholarship.
The Foundation for Rural Service also will provide four Staurulakis Family Scholarships, each valued at $5,000. Students majoring in math, science, engineering, or medicine are given preference for these scholarships.

Preference for the scholarships also will be given to students expressing an interest in returning to a rural area to work following graduation. Applicants must be a senior students who has parents or guardians that are members of GRM< Telephone Corporation.

Application forms are available from guidance counselors at high schools served by GRM. The application forms also can be downloaded from GRM's website, www.grm.net.
