A Saturday morning fire destroyed a house in Spickard occupied by the Bob Blozvich family. Everybody escaped the blaze safely.
Spickard Fire Protection District Firefighter J.R. Roberts said the single story structure was 'engulfed in flames' when firefighters arrived. The cause of the fire was not determined, although it is believed to be electrical. Roberts said electric heaters were being used to heat the house. The owner was listed as Carol Smart. Nothing was saved from the house.

Firefighters from the Spickard and Grundy County Rural Fire Departments were on the scene more than three hours. There were no injuries. Roberts believed the five-member Blozvich family would be staying with other family members in Trenton.
