The car skidded off the east side of the road and overturned onto its top about eight miles to the east of Jamesport. The car received extensive damage in the 7:30 a-m Tuesday accident.

About 9:20, a Green Castle man – 20 year old Jeffery Sayre – was injured in Mercer County when he failed to negotiate a curve and his pickup traveled off the west side of U-S 65 and struck a tree. After impact, the truck spun counter-clockwise and struck a second tree before coming to a stop off the road. The patrol said Sayre was flown by medical helicopter to Mercy Hospital in
Des Moines, Iowa for what were described as SERIOUS injuries. The truck was demolished in the accident two miles north of Princeton.

A woman from Carrollton was injured Monday morning when her vehicle overturned on Highway 10 in RAY County. The state patrol said Ms. Scharf was westbound when she apparently lost control and her vehicle slid off Highway 10; traveled down an embankment, overturned once before coming to a stop upright.
