Home burglary reported in Trenton

| Trenton Police are investigating a "first degree burglary" incident from early Saturday evening in the 1600 block of Merrill. Police Chief Tommy Wright said a white female reported hearing someone in her home, and a short time later upon entering the residence, she encountered a man inside.
That man has been accused of striking the woman on the head, which knocked her out, and then fleeing with a laptop computer. The suspect is described as tall, white, and a middle-aged man with long hair, wearing a blue shirt, and blue jeans.
Chief Wright said some evidence was recovered at the scene and the investigation into this weekend burglary is continuing.
