The Trenton Bulldogs opened the 2012-2013 basketball season on Tuesday night, sweeping a doubleheader at East Buchanan High School in Gower, in action heard on KTTN FM 92.3 and www.kttn.com.
In the opener, Trenton broke open a tight game by outscoring East Buchanan 20-0 in the second quarter, breezing from there to a 50-19 win in Brian Upton's debut as THS girl's basketball coach.

Avery Whitaker led Trenton with 13 points, while Scotlin Hurley and Cassidy Cotton each scoring 10. East Buchanan failed to put a player in double figures, in dropping their season opener. The Trenton boys took control of their game at East Buchanan early, jumping out to an 18-6 lead after one quarter and going on to a 65-53 win.

For the now 0-1 East Buchanan Bulldogs, Brent Schultz scored 25 points while Eddie Kilgore chipped in with 11.
