Trenton JV hoops teams sweep Marceline

The Trenton junior varsity basketball teams, playing on their home court to open the 2012-2013 seasons, swept a doubleheader against Marceline on Monday night.
The Lady Bulldog JV downed Marceline 20-11, with Mallory Hooyman and Bekah Wiggins each scoring six points. Head coach Brandon Boswell praised the Trenton defensive effort, and said his team played 'fairly well' for the first game of the year.

The Trenton JV girls will be off until Thursday, December 6th, when they will host Lawson at the THS gym.

Behind 14 points from Chris Flowers, the Trenton JV boys outlasted Marceline by the final score of 32-21. Cree Mullenix had six rebounds and five steals for the Bulldogs, with Bailey Owen adding five assists.

The Trenton JV boys team, and freshman team, will play at Putnam County High School against the Midgets on Monday night, November 26th, with action starting at 6 o'clock.

The Trenton Middle School B team boys, playing on Monday night, lost to Chillicothe 35-9. Mason Owen had six points for TMS.

Ched Hurley's Trenton Middle School boys basketball team was beaten by Chillicothe on Monday night, falling to 2-1 on the season. Spencer Harris had 14 points and Connor Cotton 10 points for TMS. They will HOST Putnam County on Monday night.

The Trenton Middle School girls 'A' team lost to Chillicothe on Monday night, 39-20. Whitley Richman led Trenton with eight points, seven rebounds, and three blocks. The 2-1 Lady Bulldogs will host Putnam County on Monday night.

Also on Monday night, the Chula girls beat Laredo 24-14, with the Laredo boys beating Chula 39-32. Austin Eckert led Laredo with 17 points, while Charles Baldwin added 12. Isaiah Boon had 13 points for Chula, with Hesston Campbell contributing ten points.
