|Ground will be broken in just a few months on the new walking trail and memorial garden at Wright Memorial Hospital and on Friday, employees of the local hospital were recognized for their support to the new construction. |
Employees were treated to a complimentary breakfast hosted by the Wright Memorial Hospital Foundation and by honoring them, were praised for the 97% employee response to the capital campaign. Foundation Director Matt Osterthun expressed his gratitude to the employees for their outstanding response, something he considers to be a sign of greater things to come as the focus now shifts to the community for their support.
It is estimated that the walking trail and memorial garden will be constructed in phases with the first and most important phase to cost approximately $100,000. This phase will include the construction of the half-mile trail that will surround the hospital. Other phases will include the construction of the memorial garden, landscaping, special seating and even a foot-bridge.
Individuals, businesses and organizations are encouraged to send tax-deductible contributions to the Wright Memorial Hospital Foundation at 191 Iowa Boulevard in Trenton. Osterthun says the walking trail and memorial garden offers a special opportunity to honor loved ones in the form of living memorials or by remembering them in lieu of holiday gifts during this holiday season. Special events and naming opportunities are being finalized by the Foundation with efforts leading up to the ground-breaking event scheduled for April 12th.
