Stout defense gave the North Central Missouri College women a chance to get a road victory on Wednesday night, but cold shooting doomed the Lady Pirates, who lost 62-52 at Marshalltown Community College in Marshalltown, Iowa, dropping North Central's record to 3-2.
The Lady Pirates shot 16 percent from three-point range, 34 percent overall from the field, and struggled mightily from the free throw line, hitting just 35 percent from there in the defeat. NCMC did have a shot at the win late, however, trailing by just two points with two minutes to play.

Head coach Jenni Croy says future concentration with her team will continue to stress the need to "play well on the road". In the loss at Marshalltown, Mysti Williams led NCMC with 12 points with Amanda Rodenberg chipping in with 10.

The NCMC women and men host the Highland Community College Scotties on Saturday afternoon at the Ketcham Community Center in Trenton. The women's game tips at 2:00 with the men's game at 4:00. Pregame will hit the air at 1:45 on Hot Country Z 101.7 and www.kgozfm.com.
