"Scouting For Food" drive nets 2,006 pounds across Trenton

The Scouting For Food drive in residential area in Trenton on Saturday resulted in the donation of more than 2,000 pounds of non-perishable food items, paper products, and personal hygiene items. A $100.00 donation also was received. The 2,006 pounds was about 900 pounds BELOW average.
The record amount collected came in 2009, when the donations totaled 3,600 pounds. The donations go to the Grundy County Community Food Pantry.

Boy Scout Troops 97 and 99, and Cub Scout Pack 23 of Trenton participated in the Scouting For Food drive Saturday. They thanked the Trenton community for its support of the community service project, and encouraged the public to donate to any other food collections.
