Brookfield man injured in Saturday night accident, accused of DWI

A Brookfield resident was injured on Saturday night when the car he was driving went off a road north of Sumner, hit a culvert, and overturned. Twenty-one year old Nathan Bennett was taken by private vehicle to Pershing Memorial Hospital in Brookfield, with injuries called minor by the Highway Patrol.
The accident was five miles north of Sumner on Highway 139. The investigating officer said the northbound car went off the right side of 139, hit a culvert, and overturned, coming to rest on its top. The vehicle was demolished.

The Patrol said Bennett was not wearing a seat belt. The Patrol also said he was accused of Driving While Intoxicated and Careless and Imprudent Driving.
