| The Trenton Bulldogs wore down a bigger Concordia front on Friday night, dominating the second half and pulling away for a 34-7 victory, giving the Bulldogs a 5-4 finish to the 2012 regular season, and dropping Concordia to an identical record of 5-4. One of the many positive stories to come out of the game for THS was the kicking of senior Seth Acton, who cracked a 37 yard field goal midway through the opening quarter to give the Bulldogs a 3-0 lead. Acton later made a 33 yard kick in the fourth quarter, and perhaps his most impressive boot of the night just missed, as a 47 yard attempt hit the right upright. Acton was also a perfect four-for-four on extra point attempts.
Austin Taul had his second consecutive 200-plus yard rushing night for the Bulldogs, scoring on two long runs in the middle portions of the game. Taul extended the Trenton advantage to 9-0 with 8:15 to go in the second quarter. Tom Johnson supplied the play-by-play call:

In his return from an ankle injury suffered at Illini West, senior fullback Dillon Triplet added a scoring run late in the third quarter:

Chanse Houghton appeared to have a 40 yard scoring run with five minutes to go in the game, but an inadvertent whistle apparently stopped his run at the one yard line. He officially scored from there with 4:52 to go. Here is the call of Houghton's 'longer' run:

The only score from the Fighting Orioles came on special teams, with the Bulldogs giving up a 95 yard kickoff return for a touchdown from Kyle Wilson, with 7:11 to go in the contest.
The victory clinched the #5 seed in district play for Trenton, with the Bulldogs headed to Burlington Field in Brookfield this Friday night to play the rival Bulldogs in a 7 o'clock kickoff in a district quarterfinal game, to be heard on Hot Country Z 101.7 and www.kgozfm.com.
