Highway 6 accident injures two Green Castle residents

Two people were hurt on Thursday morning, October 11th, just east of Green Castle, when a car went off Highway 6 and into a ditch. The Highway Patrol said a passenger, 71-year old Shirley Speiser of Green Castle, was flown by medical helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia, with injuries described as MODERATE.
The driver, 68-year old Linda O'Brien of Green Castle, was taken to Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville. Her injuries were described as minor.

The accident was just east of Green Castle. The Patrol said the car was eastbound on Highway 6 when it went off the right side of the road and hit the ditch. Damage to the car was extensive. Both women were wearing seat belts.
