"Family Fun Festival" planned at Wallace State Park this Saturday

Missouri State Parks holds a "Family Fun Festival" at Wallace State Park near Cameron on Saturday, October 20th. The free event includes guided hikes, games, programs, and a campsite decorating contest. Visitors are to meet at the campground amphitheater.
A "Fall Colors" hike will begin that morning at 10 o'clock. It is on Skunk Hollow Trail and takes about thirty minutes.

Also planned is a "Find the Pumpkin" contest. Each trail at Wallace State Park will have one small hidden pumpkin. Those finding a pumpkin will win a LARGE pumpkin.

Another feature on Saturday is a live owl program at 2 o'clock. It will be presented by Operation Wildlife, which provides rehabilitation services for injured and orphaned wild animals and wildlife education.

A campsite decorating contest is the night of October 20th at 7:30. It will involve fall and Halloween decorations. Prizes will be awarded to the winners. There also will be refreshments at Wallace State Park near Cameron on October 20th during the Family Fun Festival.
