|A missing 78-year old Brookfield man was located safe around 12 noon on Sunday in Hartford, Illinois, which is just north of St. Louis. Hartford Police said Francis Moseley stopped at a gas station, went inside the building, told people he was lost, and asked for directions. A police spokesman said Moseley seemed a little disoriented. Although people at the gas station did not know Moseley was missing, police were contacted.|
Hartford Police said Moseley had directions in his hand from somewhere, but they did not come from anyone around Hartford. Moseley's van was at a gas pump.
Family members were to travel to Hartford to pick him up on Sunday afternoon.
On Sunday morning, Brookfield Police, via the Missouri State Highway Patrol, issued an endangered SILVER advisory for a missing adult. It contained a description of Moseley and his van, and background information.
Authorities said Moseley left Brookfield on Saturday afternoon around 3:00 in route to Mendon (south of Brookfield in Chariton County). Authorities said he was contacted by a Mercer County deputy late Saturday afternoon on northbound Highway 65 four miles south of the Iowa line. He was given directions to Brookfield. However, he did not return home. Authorities said Moseley is suffering from both diabetes and Alzheimer's Disease.
