A Chillicothe area community choir is being organized to perform Christmas music on December 16th. Adult and high school singers from around the area are being encouraged to participate. The program is the afternoon of December 16th at 3 o'clock at the Gary Dickinson Performing Arts Center. It is part of the Chillicothe Area Art Council's season.
The singers will be working with Frank Thomas, the retired Director of Missouri Western State University's concert choir. An organizational meeting and practice will be Tuesday night, October 2nd from 7 to 9 o'clock at the Chillicothe United Methodist Church at 1414 Walnut Street. Practices are scheduled at the church each Tuesday night from 7 to 9 o'clock though December 11th (with no practice scheduled Thanksgiving week).

It is not necessary for singers to attend all practices, but Arts Council Administrator Julie Ashbrook says it is hoped that a 'majority' of singers can be at a 'majority' of the practices.

Those wishing to take part in the choir, but who will be unable to attend the October 2nd practice, should contact the Chillicothe Area Arts Council. Their office is at the Chillicothe Area Chamber of Commerce location at 514 Washington Street.
