Although still subject to 'final review', fall enrollment appears to be down slightly at North Central Missouri College in Trenton. However, enrollment is still up considerably when compared to five years ago (2007). Figures on student enrollment were provided by college officials this week, with President Neil Nuttall noting that preliminary indicators are showing a 'level' enrollment overall.
Enrollment at NCMC this fall, for ALL STUDENTS, is 1,786. That is down 16 students from last year, a difference of 0.9 percent. Last year's fall enrollment of 1,820 was 30 fewer than the 2010 record high of 1,832. Dr. Nuttall notes that many colleges are experiencing fall enrollment declines, some by as many as 12 percent.

Dr. Nuttall said that he believes changes to the Federal Pell Grant program have caused students to take FEWER classes. He said some students have become ineligible for the government funds.
