The Highway Patrol says two Gallatin residents were injured on Saturday night northwest of Hamilton when a motorcycle overturned after hitting an owl. The Patrol said the owl had flown from a location "up the road".
A passenger, ten year old Hannah Stith of Gallatin, was taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center with what the Highway Patrol called MODERATE injuries. Her father, 35-year old Donald Stith, refused medical treatment at the scene.

The accident was three miles northwest of Hamilton on Caldwell County Route CC. The motorcycle, being driven by Donald Stith, was southbound went it hit the owl. The machine skidded, overturned onto its right side, and slid off the road, coming to rest in a ditch. Both people were wearing helmets. Damage to the motorcycle was moderate.
