Felony charges have been filed against three persons in connection with the Wednesday afternoon theft of a Grundy County-owned pickup truck.
Each is held in lieu of 20 thousand dollars bond at the Grundy County Detention Center.
According to the Grundy County Sheriff's office, 18 year old William Kyle Swartz of 1923 Oak is charged with stealing a pickup truck and with property damage in the first degree.

Two other defendants, 19 year old Jackson Samuel Anderson of 10-12 and a half Haliburton AND 17 year old Katie Lynn Corum of Galt are each charged with two counts of receiving stolen
property.

The trio is scheduled to appear next Tuesday in the associate division of Grundy County Circuit Court.

Sheriff Rodney Herring said the road and bridge department pickup, with a flat bed to transport tools and equipment, was taken from a job site east of Tindall Wednesday afternoon. Herring said keys had been left in the truck parked
along Northeast 37th Avenue.

Herring indicated the truck had been taken for what he called “a joy ride” including being driven in a field. The motion, he said, caused some equipment (a welder??) to fall off the bed and get damaged.

Herring said the pickup was recovered a couple of miles away after the suspects allegedly tried to hide it. The trio were arrested Wednesday night and charges were filed late Thursday afternoon.
