Paityn was a passenger in a pickup driven by 26-year old Kenneth Sparks of Linneus. He was not reported hurt.

The Saturday morning accident was one mile west of Brookfield on Galaxy Road. The investigating officer said the eastbound pickup went off the road, causing the driver to over-correct, with the truck eventually becoming 'demolished' in the ensuing crash. Both father and daughter had safety devices on.
